உயிர்ப்பு காலத்தின் ஐந்தாம் ஞாயிறு

இறைவனின் இதயத்தில் ஓர் இல்லம்

வாழ்க்கை என்பது பெரும்பாலும் எதிர்பாராத புயல்கள் நிறைந்த பயணமாக இருக்கிறது. இடமாற்றங்கள், பணிச்சுமை, மற்றும் தெளிவற்ற எதிர்காலம் என நாம் பல அழுத்தங்களைச் சந்திக்கிறோம். இன்றைய நற்செய்தியில், இயேசு தங்களை விட்டுப் பிரியப்போகிறார் என்பதை அறிந்த சீடர்கள், அனாதைகளாக்கப்பட்டு விடுவோமோ என்ற "கலக்கத்தில்" இருந்தனர். அந்தப் பதட்டமான இதயங்களுக்கு இயேசு இன்றும் அதே ஆறுதல் வார்த்தைகளைக் கூறுகிறார்: “உங்கள் உள்ளம் கலங்க வேண்டாம். கடவுளிடம் நம்பிக்கை கொள்ளுங்கள்; என்னிடமும் நம்பிக்கை கொள்ளுங்கள்.”

1. கலங்கும் உள்ளத்திற்கு மருந்து (The Cure for the Troubled Heart)

இயேசு சீடர்களை முதலில் நம்பிக்கையூட்டுகிறார். 'கலக்கம்' என்பதற்கு கிரேக்கத்தில் 'கொந்தளிக்கும் நீர்' என்று பொருள். நாளை பற்றிய கவலையில் நம் மனம் கொந்தளிக்கும்போது, புனித பியத்ரெல்சினா (Padre Pio) அவர்களின் பொன்மொழி நமக்குத் தேவை: "செபி, நம்பு, கவலைப்படாதே.”

விவிலிய மேற்கோள்: "உன் வழியை ஆண்டவரிடம் ஒப்படைத்துவிடு; அவரையே நம்பியிரு; அவரே உனக்காகச் செயல்படுவார்." (சங்கீதம் 37:5)

கத்தோலிக்கப் பார்வை: கத்தோலிக்க மறைக்கல்வி (CCC 2090) கற்பிப்பது போல, நம்பிக்கை (Hope) என்பது கடவுளின் வாக்குறுதிகள் நிறைவேறும் என்று காத்திருப்பதாகும். புயல் ஓய்வதை விட, புயலில் இயேசு நம்மோடு படகில் இருக்கிறார் என்பதே உண்மையான ஆறுதல்.

2. பல உறைவிடங்கள்: ஆச்சரியங்களின் கடவுள்

தந்தையின் இல்லத்தில் 'பல உறைவிடங்கள்' இருப்பதாக இயேசு கூறுகிறார். புனித குழந்தை தெரேசா (St. Thérèse of Lisieux) ஒருமுறை ஒரு கவலையில் இருந்தார்: "பெரிய புனிதர்களுக்குக் கிடைக்கும் இடம் எனக்குக் கிடைக்குமா?" பிறகு அவர் உணர்ந்தார், தோட்டத்தில் கம்பீரமான லீலி மலரும் தேவை, சிறிய காட்டுப்பூவும் தேவை.

திருச்சபை சிந்தனை: திருச்சபை என்பது 'பல்வகைமையில் ஒருமைப்பாடு' கொண்டது. நீங்கள் ஒரு பெரிய தலைவராகவோ அல்லது அமைதியாகச் செபிக்கும் ஒரு விளிம்புநிலை மனிதராகவோ இருக்கலாம்—தந்தையின் இதயத்தில் உங்களுக்கென ஒரு தனி அறை ஒதுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

3. தாழ்மையான சேவையின் வழி (The Way of Humble Service)

இயேசு தன்னை "வழியும் உண்மையும் வாழ்வுமாக" அறிவிக்கிறார். முதல் வாசிப்பில் (திருத்தூதர் பணிகள் 6:1-7), ஆரம்பகால திருச்சபை ஒரு நெருக்கடியைச் சந்தித்தது. அங்கு உணவைப் பகிர்வதில் பாரபட்சம் காட்டப்பட்டபோது, திருத்தூதர்கள் செபித்ததோடு மட்டுமல்லாமல், மற்றவர்களுக்குப் பணிவிடை செய்ய 'திருத்தொண்டர்களை' (Deacons) நியமித்தனர்.

 புனிதர் வாழ்வு: கொல்கத்தா புனித தெரசா (Mother Teresa) இதையே வாழ்ந்தார். அவர் உலகளாவிய தீர்வுகளைத் தேடவில்லை; தன் முன்னால் இருந்த ஒரு ஏழைக்காகப் பணிவிடை செய்தார்.

 மேற்கோள்: "மனுமகன் தொண்டு செய்யப்படுவதற்கு அல்ல, தொண்டு செய்யவும் பலருடைய மீட்புக்கு ஈடாகத் தம் உயிரைக் கொடுக்கவும் வந்தார்." (மத்தேயு 20:28).

4. உயிருள்ள கற்கள்: வெறும் நினைவுச் சின்னங்கள் அல்ல

புனித பேதுரு நம்மை "உயிருள்ள கற்கள்" (Living Stones) என்று அழைக்கிறார். ஒரு கல் தனியாக இருந்தால் அது வெறும் பாறை; ஆனால் அது "மூலைக்கல்லாகிய" கிறிஸ்துவோடு இணையும்போது ஒரு பேராலயமாக (Cathedral) மாறுகிறது.

 விவிலிய மேற்கோள்: "நீங்கள் இறைவனுடைய இல்லம்; நீங்கள் உயிருள்ள கற்களாகச் செதுக்கப்பட்டு, ஆவிக்குரிய இல்லமாக எழுப்பப்படுகிறீர்கள்." (1 பேதுரு 2:5)

 சிந்தனை: அசிசி புனித பிரான்சிஸ் முதலில் ஒரு பௌதீகக் கோவிலைக் கட்ட நினைத்தார். ஆனால், கடவுள் அவரிடம் 'மக்களாகிய திருச்சபையைக்' கட்டியெழுப்பச் சொன்னார். நாம் ஒரு அருங்காட்சியகம் அல்ல, உறவுகள் வாழும் ஆலயம்.

5. நெருப்பில் எழுந்த அடையாளம் (The Signal in the Smoke)

புயலில் சிக்கித் தவித்த ஒருவனின் குடிசை தீப்பற்றி எரிந்தது. அவன் கடவுளைக் கடிந்துகொண்டான். ஆனால் மறுநாள் ஒரு கப்பல் வந்தது. அவர்கள் சொன்னார்கள், "உன் குடிசையிலிருந்து வந்த புகையைப் பார்த்துதான் உன்னைக் காப்பாற்ற வந்தோம்."

Building a Home in the Heart of God

Life often feels like a series of unexpected storms. We face transitions, pressures in our work, and moments where the path ahead seems blurred. In today’s Gospel, the disciples were feeling exactly this a deep sense of "trouble" and abandonment as Jesus spoke of his departure. To our restless and often anxious hearts, Jesus speaks the same calming words he gave them: “Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God, believe also in me.” Today, we explore how Jesus provides us with a "many-roomed" home, a clear "Way" to walk, and a purpose that turns our ordinary lives into "living stones."

1. The Cure for the Troubled Heart

Jesus begins with a command to trust. The word "troubled" in Greek suggests water being violently stirred by a gale. We often live in that state stirred up by anxiety about tomorrow.

St. Padre Pio, who lived through global conflict and personal physical suffering, famously countered this restlessness with a simple rule: “Pray, hope, and don’t worry.” He taught that worry is a waste of energy that changes nothing. Jesus offers Himself as the anchor. Faith isn't a magic wand that removes the storm; it is the quiet confidence that the Master of the Sea is in the boat with you.

2. A House with Many Rooms: The God of Surprises

We often try to make God’s house small, but Jesus says, “In my Father’s house, there are many dwelling places.” There is a humorous story of a traveler in heaven being shown a massive house. He sees a room of solemn chanters, a room of lively dancers, and a room of quiet meditators. The angel whispers, “Tiptoe past this next door; they think they’re the only ones here.” This reminds us that God’s heart is wider than our definitions.

St. Thérèse of Lisieux once worried that her "littleness" meant she wouldn't have a place among the great saints. She eventually realized that God’s garden needs both the majestic lily and the tiny wildflower. Whether you feel like a "great saint" or a "small wildflower," there is a room in the Father’s house designed specifically for your soul.

3. The Narrow Way of Humble Service

When Jesus calls Himself “The Way,” He is inviting us to a specific lifestyle. In the first reading from Acts, the early Church faced a crisis of inequality. They didn’t just pray; they acted by appointing helpers to serve the neglected.

St. Teresa of Calcutta understood this "Way" perfectly. She didn't look for global solutions; she looked for the person right in front of her. She proved that the "Way" to the Father is paved with humble service. To follow Jesus is to realize that no act of kindness, whether in a school, an office, or a home, is too small to be sacred.

4. Living Stones vs. Cold Monuments

St. Peter describes us as “living stones” being built into a spiritual house. A stone on its own is just a rock, but when it is joined to the "Cornerstone" (Christ) and supported by the stones next to it (the community), it becomes a cathedral.

St. Francis of Assisi* initially thought God wanted him to repair physical bricks. He eventually understood that God wanted him to rebuild the *people*. We are called to be a living, breathing Church—not a museum of the past, but a home where the lonely find family. We are a "royal priesthood," meant to carry the light of Christ into the dark corners of our daily lives.

5. The Signal in the Smoke

Consider the story of a shipwrecked man who finally built a small hut for shelter, only to have it burn to the ground. He cried out in anger, *“God, how could you do this to me?”* But the next morning, a ship arrived. They told him, *“We saw your smoke signal.”* What he saw as a disaster, God used as a flare for his salvation.

St. John of the Cross spoke of the "Dark Night," where it feels like everything we’ve built is turning to ash. He taught that in those moments of loss, God is often closest to us. If you feel like your "hut is on fire" today if a plan has failed or a door has closed—trust that God may be using that very smoke to bring you toward your true rescue.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, You are the Way, the Truth, and the Life. When our hearts are troubled, grant us the peace that surpasses understanding. Help us to remember that You have prepared a place for us, and that our lives are precious stones in Your spiritual house. Give us the grace to serve one another with humility, to trust You in the midst of the fire, and to always recognize the "smoke signals" of Your grace leading us home. Amen.
