உயிர்ப்புக்காலத்தின் நான்காம் ஞாயிறு

ஒருபோதும் மறவாத மேய்ப்பர்

என் அன்பு சகோதர சகோதரிகளே, லண்டன் போன்ற ஒரு பரபரப்பான நகரத்தைக் கற்பனை செய்து பாருங்கள். கடைகளுக்கு மேலுள்ள ஒரு சிறிய அடுக்குமாடி குடியிருப்பில், **ஜாய்ஸ் கரோல் வின்சென்ட் (Joyce Carol Vincent) என்ற பெண்மணி தனியாக வசித்து வந்தார். 2003 ஆம் ஆண்டில் ஒரு நாள், அவர் தனது சோபாவில் அமர்ந்திருந்தபோதே உயிர் பிரிந்தது.

இதயத்தை உலுக்கும் உண்மை என்னவென்றால், அவர் இறந்து மூன்று ஆண்டுகள் வரை அது யாருக்கும் தெரியவில்லை என்பதுதான். தொலைக்காட்சி ஓடிக்கொண்டிருந்தது, வீட்டு வாடகை வங்கிக் கணக்கிலிருந்து தானாகவே செலுத்தப்பட்டது, அன்புக்குரியவர்களுக்காகக் காத்திருந்த கிறிஸ்துமஸ் பரிசுகள் அவர் அருகிலேயே அப்படியே இருந்தன. அக்கம் பக்கத்தில் மக்கள் நிறைந்த அந்த அடுக்குமாடி குடியிருப்பில், அவர் முற்றிலும் மறக்கப்பட்டார்.

ஒரு மேய்ப்பர் இல்லாத வாழ்க்கை இப்படித்தான் இருக்கும். உங்களைச் சுற்றி மக்கள் இருந்தாலும், நீங்கள் கண்ணுக்குத் தெரியாதவராக இருக்கலாம்.

1. நல்ல மேய்ப்பர் / கூலி ஆள்

இன்று இயேசு, "நானே நல்ல மேய்ப்பர்" என்று கூறுகிறார். அவர் தன்னை "கூலி ஆள்" அல்லது கெட்ட மேய்ப்பருடன் ஒப்பிடுகிறார்.

  கூலி ஆள் என்பவர், ஏதோ ஒரு சத்தம் கேட்கும்போது சாளரத்தை மூடிக்கொண்டு ஒதுங்கிக்கொள்பவரைப் போன்றவர். அவர்களுக்கு ஊதியம் மட்டுமே முக்கியம். ஓநாய் வந்தால், அவர்கள் ஓடிவிடுவார்கள்.

 ஆனால், நல்ல மேய்ப்பர் 'வாயிலாக' (Gate) இருக்கிறார். அவர் கதவு அருகே நிற்கிறார். உங்கள் பெயரை அவர் அறிவார், உங்கள் இதயத்தை அறிவார், உங்கள் காயங்களை அறிவார். இயேசுவைப் பொறுத்தவரை, யாரும் "அறியப்படாதவர்கள்" அல்ல. ஒரு ஆடு மூன்று ஆண்டுகளாகத் தனியாக இருப்பதை அவர் ஒருபோதும் அனுமதிக்க மாட்டார்.

2. "வாயிலின்" துணிச்சல் (புனித தர்சிசியஸ்)

நல்ல மேய்ப்பரைப் பின்தொடர, புனிதமானவற்றைப் பாதுகாக்க நாம் கற்றுக்கொள்ள வேண்டும். புனித தர்சிசியஸ் ஆரம்பகால திருச்சபையின் ஒரு சிறுவர், ஒரு பீட உதவியாளர். சிறைக்கைதிகளுக்கு நற்கருணையை எடுத்துச் செல்லுமாறு அவரிடம் கேட்கப்பட்டபோது, அவர் அதை ஏதோ ஒரு சாதாரண வேலையாகச் செய்யவில்லை.

ஒரு கும்பல் அவரைத் தாக்கியபோது, அவர் ஒரு "கூலி ஆளைப் போல" ஓடவில்லை. அவர் நற்கருணையைத் தனது நெஞ்சோடு சேர்த்து அணைத்துக்கொண்டு, தனது உயிரையே கொடுத்து ஆண்டவரைப் பாதுகாக்கும் ஒரு "மனித வாயிலாக" மாறினார். இன்றைய "பீட உதவியாளர்களுக்கு" அவர் ஒரு முன்னுதாரணம். நீங்கள் திருப்பலியில் ஏதோ "உதவி" மட்டும் செய்யவில்லை. நீங்கள் அரசரின் பாதுகாவலர்கள். ஒவ்வொரு ஆன்மாவையும் பெயர் சொல்லி அழைப்பவரை நீங்கள் சுமக்கிறீர்கள்.

3. கவனிக்கும் அழைத்தல் (புனித ஜான் பெர்க்மான்ஸ்)

ஜாய்ஸைப் போல நம் சமூகத்தில் எவரும் மறக்கப்படாமல் இருப்பதை நாம் எப்படி உறுதி செய்வது? அதற்குப் புனித ஜான் பெர்க்மான்ஸைப் பார்ப்போம்.

ஜான் ஒரு குருவாக விரும்பிய இளம் புனிதர். ஆனால் அவர் ஒரு அந்தஸ்துக்காகக் காத்திருக்கவில்லை. "சாதாரணமான செயல்களை அசாதாரணமான அன்போடு செய்வதே" சொர்க்கத்திற்கான பாதை என்று அவர் நம்பினார். அவர் செய்யும் ஒவ்வொரு செபத்தையும், ஏற்றி வைக்கும் ஒவ்வொரு மெழுகுவர்த்தியையும், சந்திக்கும் ஒவ்வொரு நபரையும் முழு கவனத்துடன் அணுகினார்.

அவரது அழைத்தல் பிரபலமாக இருப்பதல்ல; மாறாக, "கவனிப்பது" (Noticing). திருச்சபையில் நாம் அனைவரும் ஒரே மந்தை என்பதை அவர் உணர்ந்திருந்தார். நமக்கு அருகில் அமர்ந்திருப்பவரை கவனித்து, அவர்கள் பார்க்கப்படுகிறார்கள், அறியப்படுகிறார்கள், நேசிக்கப்படுகிறார்கள் என்பதை உறுதிப்படுத்துவதே நம் பணி.

இன்றைய நம் அழைப்பு

இன்று குருத்துவ அழைத்தல் ஞாயிறு (Vocation Sunday) மற்றும் பீட உதவியாளர் ஞாயிறு. செய்தி எளிதானது:

 பீட உதவியாளர்கள்:தர்சிசியஸைப் போல இருங்கள். நீங்கள் நல்ல மேய்ப்பரை எவ்வளவு நேசிக்கிறீர்கள் என்பதை மக்கள் காணும் அளவுக்கு பீடத்தை மரியாதையுடன் அணுகுங்கள்.

 நம் அனைவரும்: ஜான் பெர்க்மான்ஸைப் போல இருங்கள். உங்கள் அண்டை வீட்டாரோ அல்லது பங்கு மக்களோ "கண்ணுக்குத் தெரியாதவர்களாக" மாற விடாதீர்கள். ஒரு அழைத்தல் என்பது, இந்தத் தனிமையான உலகில் மேய்ப்பரின் கண்களாகவும் கைகளாகவும் இருப்பதற்கான அழைப்பு மட்டுமே.

இயேசுவே வாயிலாக இருக்கிறார். மறக்கப்பட்டு இருளில் சிக்கிக்கொள்ளும் நமக்கும், அந்த இருளுக்கும் இடையே அவரே நிற்கிறார். அவருடைய குரலுக்குச் செவிசாய்ப்போம்; மந்தையின் ஒளியின் பக்கம் மற்றவர்களை அழைத்து வரும் குரலாக நாம் இருப்போம்.

The Shepherd Who Never Forgets

My dear brothers and sisters, imagine a busy city like London. In a small apartment above a row of shops, a woman named **Joyce Carol Vincent** lived alone. One day in 2003, she passed away while sitting on her sofa.

What is heartbreaking is that it took three years for anyone to notice. The television stayed on, the rent was paid by automatic bank transfers, and wrapped Christmas presents sat by her side, waiting for friends who never came. In a building full of neighbors, she was completely forgotten.

This is what life looks like when there is no shepherd. You can be surrounded by people and still be invisible.

1. The Good Shepherd vs. The Hireling

Today, Jesus tells us, "I am the Good Shepherd." He contrasts Himself with the "hireling" or the bad shepherd.

  A hireling is like a neighbor who hears a strange noise but closes their window. They are only there for the paycheck. If a wolf comes, they run.

  But the Good Shepherd is the Gate. He stands in the doorway. He knows your name, your heart, and your hurts. To Jesus, no one is ever "invisible." He would never let a sheep sit alone for three years unnoticed.

 2. The Courage of the "Gate" (St. Tarcisius)

To follow the Good Shepherd, we must learn to protect what is holy. St. Tarcisius was a young boy an altar server of the early Church. When he was asked to carry the Eucharist to prisoners, he didn't treat it like a simple task.

When a mob attacked him, he didn't run away like a "hireling." He pressed the Blessed Sacrament to his chest and became a human gate, protecting the Lord with his very life. He reminds our "Altar Servers" today that you aren't just "helping out" at Mass. You are the guardians of the King. You carry the One who knows every soul by name.

 3. The Vocation of Noticing (St. John Berchmans)

How do we make sure no one in our community is forgotten like Joyce was? We look to St. John Berchmans.

John was a young saint who wanted to be a priest, but he didn't wait for a title to start caring. He believed that "Doing the common things uncommonly well" was the path to heaven. He treated every prayer, every candle he lit, and every person he met with total attention.

His vocation wasn't about being famous; it was about "noticing". He knew that in the Church, we are a flock. We are called to look at the person in the pew next to us and make sure they are seen, known, and loved.

Conclusion: 

Our Call Today

Today is Vocation Sunday and Altar Server’s Sunday. The message is simple:

Altar Servers: Be like Tarcisius. Treat the altar with such reverence that people see how much you love the Shepherd.

 All of Us: Be like John Berchmans. Don't let your neighbors or fellow parishioners become "invisible." A vocation is simply a call to be the Shepherd’s eyes and hands in a lonely world.

Jesus is the Gate. He is the one who stands between us and the darkness of being forgotten. Let us listen for His voice, and let us be the voice that calls others back into the light of the flock.
