 தளரா நம்பிக்கையும் இடைவிடாத மன்றாட்டும்

அன்பார்ந்த சகோதர சகோதரிகளே, இன்றைய திருவழிபாட்டு வாசகங்கள் நம்முடைய ஆன்மீக வாழ்வுக்கு மிகவும் முக்கியமான இரண்டு பாடங்களை வலியுறுத்துகின்றன: தளராத விசுவாசம் மற்றும் இடைவிடாத மன்றாட்டு.

தளராத விசுவாசத்தின் ஆற்றல் (முதல் வாசகம்)

விடுதலைப் பயண நூலிலிருந்து நாம் கேட்ட முதல் வாசகம், அமலேக்கியருக்கு எதிரான போரில் மோசேயின் கைகளின் மகத்துவத்தை விவரிக்கிறது. மோசே தம் கைகளை உயர்த்தியிருந்தபோது இஸ்ரயேலர் வெற்றி பெற்றனர்; கைகளைத் தளரவிட்டபோதெல்லாம் அமலேக்கியர் வென்றனர். மோசேயின் கைகள் தளர்ந்தபோது, ஆரோனும் கூரும் அவருக்குத் துணையாக நின்று, கதிரவன் மறையும்வரை அவரது கைகளைத் தாங்கினர்.

 * சிந்தனை: மோசே உயர்த்திய கைகள் வெறும் சைகை அல்ல; அது கடவுள் மீதான முழுமையான நம்பிக்கையின் அடையாளமாகும். வெற்றியோ தோல்வியோ அவரது வல்லமையால் வரவில்லை, மாறாக கடவுளின் ஆற்றலால் வந்தது. நாமும் நம் வாழ்வில் போராடுகளையும் சவால்களையும் சந்திக்கும்போது, நம்முடைய முயற்சியை மட்டும் நம்பாமல், கைகளை உயர்த்தி, நம்முடைய உதவியும் வல்லமையும் விண்ணையும் மண்ணையும் உண்டாக்கிய ஆண்டவரிடமிருந்தே வரும் என்று விசுவாசிக்க வேண்டும் (பதிலுரைப் பாடல்).

 * பயிற்சி: நம்முடைய விசுவாசம் தளர்ந்து போகும்போது, ஆரோன், கூர் போல நமக்குத் துணையாக இருந்து, நம்மைத் தாங்கிக் கொள்ளும் உறவுகள், நண்பர்கள், மற்றும் திருச்சபையின் ஆதரவை நாம் நாட வேண்டும்.

இறைவார்த்தையின் பயனும் விசுவாசத்தின் தகுதியும் (இரண்டாம் வாசகம்)

திருத்தூதர் பவுல் திமொத்தேயுவுக்கு எழுதிய இரண்டாம் திருமுகத்திலிருந்து நாம் கேட்ட இரண்டாம் வாசகம், திருமறை நூலின் முக்கியத்துவத்தை அழுத்தமாகப் பதிவு செய்கிறது. அது மீட்புக்கு வழி நடத்தும் ஞானத்தை அளிக்கிறது; கற்பிப்பதற்கும், கண்டிப்பதற்கும், சீராக்குவதற்கும், நேர்மையாக வாழப் பயிற்றுவிப்பதற்கும் பயனுள்ளது. இதன் மூலம் கடவுளின் மனிதர் தேர்ச்சி பெற்று நற்செயல் அனைத்தையும் செய்யத் தகுதி பெறுகிறார்.

 * சிந்தனை: நம்முடைய விசுவாசம் வெறுமனே ஒரு உணர்ச்சி அல்ல; அது இறைவார்த்தையின் அடிப்படையில் கட்டமைக்கப்பட்ட அறிவும், பயிற்சியும் ஆகும். ஒவ்வொரு விசுவாசியும் இறைவார்த்தையை ஆழ்ந்து கற்று, அதன்படி வாழும்போதுதான், கடவுளின் பணியைச் செய்ய தகுதியுள்ளவராக மாற முடியும். வாய்ப்புக் கிடைத்தாலும் கிடைக்காவிட்டாலும் இறைவார்த்தையை அறிவிப்பதில் நாம் கருத்தாக இருக்க வேண்டும்.

நீதி அருளும் கடவுள்: இடைவிடாத மன்றாட்டு (நற்செய்தி வாசகம்)

நற்செய்தி வாசகத்தில், மனந்தளராமல் எப்போதும் இறைவனிடம் மன்றாட வேண்டும் என்பதை வலியுறுத்த இயேசு, நேர்மையற்ற நடுவரும் கைம்பெண்ணும் பற்றிய உவமையைக் கூறுகிறார். இடைவிடாமல் தொல்லை கொடுத்ததால், நடுவர் தன் சுயநலத்திற்காக நீதி வழங்குகிறார். அப்படியானால், தம் தேர்ந்துகொண்டவர்கள் அல்லும் பகலும் கூக்குரலிடும்போது நம் அன்பு நிறைந்த கடவுள் நீதி வழங்காமல் இருப்பாரா?

 * சிந்தனை: இந்த உவமை கடவுளின் நீதியை நிரூபிக்கிறது. ஆனால் முக்கியமாக, அது மன்றாட்டின் விடாமுயற்சியை வலியுறுத்துகிறது. ஒரு மனித நடுவரே இடைவிடாத தொல்லையால் நீதி வழங்கியபோது, நம் அன்புள்ள, நீதியுள்ள கடவுள் நம்முடைய தொடர்ச்சியான மன்றாட்டுகளுக்கு நிச்சயமாய் பதிலளிப்பார்.

 * சவால்: நாம் விரைவில் பதிலைப் பெறாவிட்டால் சோர்ந்து போகக்கூடாது. கைம்பெண் போல, நம் மன்றாட்டில் தளராமல், தொடர்ந்து அவரிடம் நம் வேண்டுதல்களை எடுத்துரைக்க வேண்டும். ஏனென்றால், கடவுள் நமக்குத் துணை செய்யக் காலம் தாழ்த்த மாட்டார்.

இன்றைய வாசகங்கள் நம்மிடம் ஒரு கேள்வியை எழுப்புகின்றன: "மானிட மகன் வரும்போது மண்ணுலகில் நம்பிக்கையைக் காண்பாரோ?" ஆம், நம் விசுவாசம் வெறும் நம்பிக்கை மட்டுமல்ல, அது இடைவிடாத மன்றாட்டாகவும், இறைவார்த்தைப்படி வாழும் தகுதியாகவும், தளராத போராட்டமாகவும் வெளிப்பட வேண்டும். நம் கைகள் தளர்ந்தாலும், நாம் தனிமையில் இல்லை; நம் மன்றாட்டுகள் கேட்கப்படாமல் போகாது.

The central message of today’s readings is a powerful call to never give up—whether in the spiritual battles we face, the use of God’s Word in our lives, or our continuous prayer before the Almighty.

First Reading: Exodus 17:8-13 (Moses and the Battle Against Amalek)

In a key battle against the Amalekites, Moses stood on a hill while Joshua led the fight. The spiritual reality was clear: whenever Moses held his hands up, Israel was winning; whenever he lowered them, Amalek was winning.

Moses’ hands grew tired. This is a profound image of human weariness in the face of persistent spiritual struggle. The victory was not in Moses’ strength, but in the posture of complete reliance on God, symbolized by his raised hands—a sign of prayer and surrender.

When Moses' hands grew weak, Aaron and Hur supported them, holding them steady until sunset. This teaches us the vital necessity of community (the Church) in supporting our prayer life and sustaining our faith when we are exhausted. We are not meant to fight the spiritual war alone.

The victory in the material world (the battle) was directly determined by the action in the spiritual world (Moses' unceasing intercession). Our faith and prayer are the invisible forces that determine the outcome of our visible struggles.

Responsorial Psalm: Psalm 121:1-8

The Psalmist looks up to the mountains and asks, "Where will my help come from?" The powerful reply: "My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth."

This Psalm serves as the perfect response to the First Reading, confirming that the victory Moses secured came not from the mountain or his own might, but from the Almighty Creator. The Lord is our guardian who "will not slumber" and will "keep your life" from all harm. He is perpetually vigilant on our behalf.

Second Reading: 2 Timothy 3:14 – 4:2 (The Authority of Scripture)

Jesus told a parable to teach his disciples that they should pray always and not lose heart. There was an unjust judge who neither feared God nor respected people, and a poor widow who tirelessly came to him asking for justice against her opponent.

Initially, the judge refused. But because the widow's persistence was such a nuisance, he eventually decided to grant her request, saying, "I will grant her justice, so that she may not finally come and wear me out."

Jesus then makes the central point: if even an unjust judge grants justice due to persistence, how much more will God—the just and loving Father—grant justice to His chosen ones who cry out to Him day and night? God will grant them justice speedily. The parable concludes with a crucial question: "When the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?"
