பொதுக்காலம் நான்காம் ஞாயிறு

பேறுபெற்ற வாழ்வு: இறைவனின் பார்வையில் மாண்பு

இன்றைய வாசகங்கள் உலகத் தர்க்கத்திற்கு (Worldly Logic) முற்றிலும் மாறான ஒரு புதிய வாழ்வியல் நெறியை நமக்கு அறிமுகப்படுத்துகின்றன. உலகம் யாரைப் பலவீனமானவர்கள், ஏழைகள், தேவையற்றவர்கள் என்று கருதுகிறதோ, அவர்களையே கடவுள் தன் அரசுக்கு உரியவர்களாகத் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கிறார் என்பதை இன்றைய திருவழிபாடு பறைசாற்றுகிறது.

1. எளிமையின் வலிமை (முதல் வாசகம்)

இறைவாக்கினர் செப்பனியா, இஸ்ரயேல் மக்கள் அகந்தையை விட்டுவிட்டு இறைவனிடம் திரும்ப அழைப்பு விடுக்கிறார்.

எஞ்சியிருப்போர்: கடவுள் இஸ்ரயேலில் "ஏழை எளியோரை" மட்டும் எஞ்சியிருக்கச் செய்வார். அவர்கள் செல்வம் அல்லது அதிகாரத்தின் மீது அல்ல, மாறாக "ஆண்டவரின் பெயரில்" நம்பிக்கை கொள்வார்கள்.

தூய்மையான வாழ்வு: வஞ்சகப் பேச்சும், கொடுமையும் அற்ற ஒரு சமுதாயமே இறைவனுக்கு உகந்தது. நாம் எவ்வளவு அதிகமாக இறைவனைச் சார்ந்திருக்கிறோமோ, அவ்வளவு அதிகமாக அவர் நமக்கு புகலிடமாக இருப்பார்.

2. பலவீனத்தில் வெளிப்படும் கடவுளின் ஞானம் (இரண்டாம் வாசகம்)

புனித பவுல் கொரிந்தியருக்கு எழுதிய கடிதத்தில், கடவுள் மனிதர்களைத் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கும் முறையை விளக்குகிறார்.

தேர்ந்தெடுப்பு: கடவுள் ஞானிகளை வெட்கப்படுத்த மடமையானவற்றையும், வலியோரை வெட்கப்படுத்த வலுவற்றவற்றையும் தேர்கிறார். நாம் இன்று இருக்கும் நிலை நமது தகுதியினால் வந்தது அல்ல, இறைவனின் கிருபையினால் வந்தது.

பெருமை பாராட்டல்: நாம் பெருமை பாராட்ட விரும்பினால், நமது திறமைகளைக் குறித்தல்ல, நமக்காக அனைத்தையும் செய்த ஆண்டவரைக் குறித்தே பெருமை பாராட்ட வேண்டும். கிறிஸ்துவே நமக்கு ஞானமும், நீதியும், மீட்புமாக இருக்கிறார்.

3. மலைப்பொழிவு: பேறுபெற்றவர்களின் பட்டியல் (நற்செய்தி)

மத்தேயு நற்செய்தியின் "மலைப்பொழிவு" இயேசுவின் போதனைகளின் இதயம் போன்றது. இது ஒரு புதிய சட்டத் தொகுப்பு.

தலைகீழ் ஆசிர்வாதங்கள்: உலகம் 'செல்வம், அதிகாரம், சுகபோகம்' கொண்டவர்களை ஆசி பெற்றவர்கள் என்கிறது. ஆனால் இயேசு 'ஏழை உள்ளத்தோர், துயருறுவோர், கனிவுடையோர், நீதிக்காகத் துன்புறுவோர்' ஆகியோரைப் பேறுபெற்றோர் என்கிறார்.

விண்ணரசு யாருக்கு?: தங்களை ஒரு பொருட்டாகக் கருதாமல், இறைவனின் கருணையை மட்டும் நம்பி இருப்பவர்களுக்கே விண்ணரசு சொந்தமானது.

அமைதி ஏற்படுத்துவோர்: இவர்கள் வெறும் சமாதானம் பேசுபவர்கள் அல்ல, பிரிந்து கிடக்கும் இதயங்களை இணைப்பவர்கள். இவர்களே "கடவுளின் மக்கள்".

உள்ளத்தில் ஏழ்மை (Poor in Spirit): இது பணமில்லாத நிலையைக் குறிக்கவில்லை. மாறாக, "கடவுள் இல்லாமல் என்னால் ஒன்றும் செய்ய இயலாது" என்ற முழுமையான சரணாகதியைக் குறிக்கிறது.

துன்புறுத்தப்படும்போது மகிழ்ச்சி: நீதியின் பொருட்டு நாம் அவமானப்படும்போது, அது நாம் சரியான பாதையில் செல்கிறோம் என்பதற்கான அடையாளம். விண்ணுலகில் நமக்காகப் பெரிய கைம்மாறு காத்திருக்கிறது.

கடவுளின் நீதி (God's Justice): பதிலுரைப் பாடல் சொல்வது போல, ஆண்டவர் ஒடுக்கப்பட்டோர்க்கு நீதி வழங்குகிறார், பசித்திருப்போர்க்கு உணவளிக்கிறார். நாமும் அத்தகைய செயல்களில் ஈடுபடும்போது 'பேறுபெற்றவர்களாக' மாறுகிறோம்.

வாழ்விற்கான நடைமுறைச் செய்திகள் (Action Points)

தாழ்மை கொள்வோம்: நம்மிடம் இருக்கும் அறிவு, அந்தஸ்து, செல்வம் ஆகியவற்றைக் கண்டு அகந்தை கொள்ளாமல், எளிய இதயத்தோடு வாழப் பழகுவோம்.

ஆறுதல் அளிப்போம்: துயருறுவோர் பேறுபெற்றோர் எனில், துயருறுவோருக்கு ஆறுதல் அளிக்கும் நாம் இறைவனின் கரங்களாக மாறுகிறோம்.

வஞ்சகமற்ற பேச்சு: செப்பனியா கூறுவது போல, நம் வாயில் வஞ்சகப் பேச்சு வராமல் காத்துக் கொள்வோம். உண்மையும் நேர்மையும் நம் அடையாளமாக இருக்கட்டும்.

இறைவனில் பெருமை: நமது வெற்றிகளுக்கு நாமே காரணம் என்று நினைக்காமல், ஆண்டவர் செய்த நன்மைகளை எண்ணி அவருக்கு நன்றி செலுத்துவோம்.

அன்பு சகோதர சகோதரிகளே, இந்த வாரம் நாம் இயேசுவின் மலைப்பொழிவை நம் இதயங்களில் ஏந்துவோம். உலகப் பார்வையில் நாம் சாதாரணமானவர்களாகத் தோன்றினாலும், இறைவனின் பார்வையில் நாம் அவரது அன்பிற்குரிய 'பேறுபெற்ற மக்கள்'. அந்த நம்பிக்கையோடு இப்பலியில் இணைவோம்.

The Logic of Heaven: Finding True Happiness

A Radical New Way of Life

Today’s liturgy presents us with the "Beatitudes" Jesus' blueprint for a happy life. However, these teachings are a direct challenge to worldly logic. While the world values power, wealth, and self-assertion, Jesus calls us to humility, mercy, and poverty of spirit. Today, we are invited to see ourselves and others through the eyes of God.

A. The Strength of the Humble (First Reading)

Prophet Zephaniah speaks to a small "remnant" of Israel.

The Humble Remnant: God promises to leave behind a people who are "humble and lowly." They are not the ones with political power or riches, but those who find their refuge "in the name of the Lord."

Integrity: These people are characterized by their honesty no deceitful tongues or wrongdoing. They live in peace because they depend entirely on God’s protection.

B. God’s Paradoxical Choice (Second Reading)

St. Paul reminds the Corinthians (and us) that God does not choose according to human standards of "wisdom" or "success."

The Weak Shaming the Strong: God deliberately chooses what the world considers "lowly," "despised," or "nothing." Why? So that no human being can boast in His presence.

Our Only Boast: Our value doesn't come from our degrees, bank accounts, or social status. It comes from being "in Christ Jesus." As Paul says, if we want to boast, we must boast in the Lord.

C. The Beatitudes: A Mirror for the Soul (Gospel)

In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus redefines "Blessedness" (True Happiness).

Poor in Spirit: This is the foundation. It means realizing our total spiritual bankruptcy without God. The Kingdom belongs to those who know they need Him.

The Gentle and the Merciful: Jesus blesses the non-violent and the compassionate. In a world that demands "an eye for an eye," the citizens of the Kingdom respond with mercy and peace-making.

Persecution as a Sign of Grace: Jesus warns that living this way will bring insults and persecution. Yet, He tells us to "rejoice and be glad," because our reward is great in heaven.

Redefining Success

We often feel like failures if we aren't "powerful" or "wealthy." St. Paul reminds us today that being "weak" in the eyes of the world is often the very space where God works His greatest miracles. Are we trying to impress the world or please God?

The Power of Mercy

Being a "peacemaker" isn't about avoiding conflict; it’s about actively healing divisions. In our families and workplaces, are we the ones throwing fuel on the fire, or are we the ones bringing the cooling water of mercy?

Simplicity and Trust

Zephaniah’s "humble remnant" find rest because they don't have to protect a fake image or ill-gotten gains. Living simply and speaking the truth sets us free from the anxiety of "the world."

The Beatitudes are not a list of impossible demands; they are a description of Jesus Himself. He was poor in spirit, He was gentle, He was the ultimate Peacemaker, and He was persecuted for our sake. By following the Beatitudes, we are simply becoming more like Him.

Lord, help us to seek humility and righteousness. When the world mocks our faith or our gentleness, remind us that our true reward is with You. Transform our hearts so that we may truly be called the "children of God." Amen.
